O Ri Chiraiya

Play “O Ri Chiraiya” a renowned play of Navonmesh is based on Mr. Pankaj Subeer’s untold story ‘Do Ekant’ which is scripted and directed by Mr. Vijit Singh. This play is an imagination of a society without women. There is a strong bias against gender equality in the society, where patriarchal traditions prevail. This play is an eye-opener for the society heading towards more ignorance and crime against women.
Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru once quoted that ” You can tell the condition of a Nation by looking at the status of its Women.” & Swami Vivekananda said that “It is impossible to think about the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved. It is impossible for a bird to fly on only one wing.”
Through this play, the same voice has been raised for women that no nation, no society can claim to be a free and prosperous society, where half of its population is being oppressed and materialized. Sustainable and long-term development of any society is not possible without protecting and empowering the women. Only if women participate in the economic and societal development, the full potential of the India’s society will be unfolded.
The main aim of play “O Ri Chiraiya” is to bring out awareness among youths and sensitize them towards ignorance and crime against women. With this aim, the play has reached the different states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana and received the appreciation from renowned official and personnel such as Mr. Kalraj Mishra, the Indian Union Cabinet Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, BJP and Mr. Shyam Singh Rana, MLA from Radaur in Yamunanagar district, Haryana. There are more to spread the wings and fly…
